Scope of this notice

This notice describes the static journal’s own HTML, CSS and JavaScript. A hosting platform or separately supplied consent interface may have additional technical functions. Where such an interface is present, its displayed choices and information should be read alongside this notice.

Cookies and similar storage

Cookies are small pieces of information a website can ask your browser to keep. localStorage and sessionStorage are separate browser storage mechanisms. Some storage is used for essential functions or preferences; other storage can support analytics or advertising.

The journal’s own supplied script does not set cookies, write to localStorage or sessionStorage, run advertising trackers or load analytics libraries. Its mobile menu and scroll effects work without persistent storage. Reading an article does not require an account or a tracking preference.

Separate consent controls

If a consent control is supplied by the platform, a choice may be stored so that the interface can remember it. The control should explain the categories and any optional services it manages. Accepting a choice does not cause this journal’s supplied script to add analytics or advertising features.

Message composer and browser memory

The contact composer keeps its working text in the current page. It does not deliberately persist a draft. Browsers may independently restore form values or retain autofill information. Clearing site data does not necessarily remove files you downloaded or text already copied to your clipboard.

Your controls

You can inspect, block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser’s privacy or site-data settings. These settings vary by browser. Removing saved preferences may make a separately supplied consent interface ask again. Blocking script execution prevents the local composer, mobile menu toggle and animated reveals from operating; the editorial text remains readable.
